Top Compliance is a consultancy business promoting proactive compliance in terms of the:

  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and Regulations,
  • Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act,
  • The Regulations Governing the General Hygiene Requirements for Food Premises and the Transport of Food. (Government Notice R.962).

With the enforcement of the aforementioned fast becoming a reality in South African Business, companies are realising the importance of the various Acts in the protection of employer and the employee. With this in mind many companies are training and employing staff to manage their Occupational Health and Safety matters. However, it is not affordable for small or start-up companies to have a full-time employee to manage the Occupational Health and Safety matters. Small companies and start-up companies often do not have the knowledge, or the required expertise to conduct their business in the safest possible manner. This is where Top Compliance will fill this important and critical gap.

Top Compliance offers a list of services for the Client to choose from, depending on their needs and the size of the company.

With the new variant of COVID-19 being easily transmittable we need to do everything possible to ensure the health and safety of all staff and ultimately keep the business afloat.

Hand sanitisers and the legal requirements

We have all gone to the shops, workplaces, our children’s school in the past few months. We have all had to sanitise our hands before entering these premises. How often have you had your hands sprayed with a hand sanitiser that was in an unmarked spray bottle? Almost always I am sure. This is however a Criminal Offence in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 85 of 1993 - Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulations, 1995, Clause 16.

Vaccines and how they work

With more than 150 coronavirus vaccines being in development across the world and hopes are high to bring one to market in record time to ease the global crisis. We need to understand how vaccines work and importantly share our knowledge with others.

The World Health Organization is also coordinating global efforts to develop a vaccine, with an eye toward delivering two billion doses by the end of 2021.

How to positively encourage safe behaviour

With health and safety interventions we tend to assume that information alone creates sustainable behavioural change. While this may make sense on an intellectual level, individuals need a more integrated approach: one that considers the complexities of deeply ingrained patterns. Providing knowledge and guidance is vital. But motivation for behaviour change requires much more than providing tools for carrying out the behaviours. To ensure sustained behaviour change, programs need to engage with participants in ways that elicit their own goals, interests, and plans so that they can develop their own value for and interest in their own health and safety.
